Are you the kind of dentist-owner who believes marketing firm “hype,” or do you perform extensive research? 

If you’re a researcher, you’ve likely noticed that what’s missing from many dental practice growth firms’ selling proposition are hard numbers.

Sure, you get things like “Double your current patient numbers!” and “4X your income!” 

But are there hard numbers to back up what they claim? Sometimes, yes; most times, no. Or at best, “fuzzy” math.

If you’re considering partnering with an outside provider, here’s what you should be looking for in terms of documented results. If they can’t prove it, you shouldn’t believe it.

Broad Strokes AND Specifics

Any dental practice growth firm that doesn’t have at least a few success stories to share is likely on the verge of closing its doors. But individual success stories are basically anecdotes – interesting, but not definitive.

Ideally, you’d be looking for statistics on what the growth firm has achieved for its entire customer list – averages, let’s say – as well as specific results to demonstrate the range of what the firm achieves for its doctors.

The most helpful data points are increases in new patients; increase in average case value; year over year revenue growth. If you’re looking to attract more of a specific higher-value case, that would be useful also.

You’ll never get access to ALL the data, but these data points should let you compare apples to apples.
